Happy Canada Day 2016

Wishing all my fellow Canadians a happy Canada Day. When this posts up I shall still be snuggled in my bed enjoying the fact that I can sleep in. Eventually I’ll have to get my butt up to do some cleaning around here, and a load of laundry. Later in the day I have to head out for the first of two BBQ’s scheduled. I was hoping to get in some writing but that will have to wait until the “official” weekend, there’s free food and bevvies after all, and my momma didn’t raise no fool.

Stay safe, play safe, and get home safe. Don’t become a statistic this weekend. Hope you all have a fab day, a fab weekend and we’ll chat again soon.

Release Day!

VIPER_evernightpubishing-JayAheer2016-finalimageHere it is, my first release of 2016 and I am so pleased it’s for my new series – The Scoundrels MC. That’s right, it’s an MC series. VIPER is only the first of several to come, at least that’s what my muse tells me. This series will be a mixed bag of nuts, in more ways than one I’m sure, since there will be all the characters in the MC along with various problems in their lives. Not even including their love life issues.

This one was a surprise from my muse. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect when I had the first inkling of a new idea. But if I do say so myself I’m quite pleased with it and hope that all my readers enjoy it as well. I also must give kudos to Jay Aheer for the fantastically sexy cover she designed for the book, not to mention the kick ass emblem to signify the MC. Now let’s kick things with the blurb for the book, and links that are currently available follow at the bottom.

BLURB:

An enemy from the club’s past returns with a vengeance. The MC president and his old lady are missing, and the man behind the act is in the wind.

Krista Richmond has always been protected from the club’s shadier endeavors. In one split second she finds herself thrust head first into the chaos. Relying on a man she knows she can trust with her life, if not her heart, Krista isn’t backing down from whatever he and the club need from her. Now if only her heart would get the memo.

Dillon “Viper” Kendrick is not a man to be trifled with. He’s earned his spot at the table by being smart and merciless. There is nothing that can push Viper off balance—except her. It’s futile fighting his feelings and yet losing her would kill whatever good remains inside him. Which means saving her parents and killing the man who threatens them all.

The gameplan

Spell Check, word cloud concept 9Laundry’s in the dryer which means it’s finally time to download VIPER, The Scoundrels MC book 1 to see what editing notes in the doc I have and what all needs to be done. I received them over the long weekend and since then haven’t had two seconds to do more than briefly glance at the editor sheet with her notes. For the most part it sounds pretty damn good. A few spots I need to fill in to make everything smoother, and a couple goofy things that obviously I wrote while half asleep. Ugh! Really need to stop doing that.

Once that’s off my plate the rest of the weekend is for writing. Which means more work done on book 3 of the Living Victorious series. Many readers have asked when this one is coming out. Unfortunately I’ve had a hell of a time getting back into the groove since Christmas. The extra long break and a shake up around work, nothing horrible mind you – just extra hours, extra work, and no extra help or bump in pay – mucked up my rhythm. Gotta get my groove back basically.

Last thing I need to do is load some more of my writer friends onto the blog for the coming weeks – been slacking there sadly. But I can do that during my breaks when I need a moment to clear the brain fog out.

Beyond that it will be lots of coffee, many snacks, and pounding the keys until my hands cramp and I need to find something else to do for a little while. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I’ll update soon. ~ Moira

Happy New Year 2016

Another year has come and gone, and we face a clean slate. A brand new beginning with nothing yet set in stone or decided. I hope everyone makes it a fabulous year, but whatever you do make it your own. Decide what you want and go for it, no one can make decisions for your path but you.

I don’t make New Years resolutions, never have, never will. While I may have a vague idea what I want to achieve in the year to come it’s never set in stone, that’s not who I am. I much prefer to take things as they come, adapt, and make decisions as I need to. Yes, I am a very “by the seats of my pants” sort of girl.

My only plans for 2016 are to keep on writing and to hopefully grow even more than I have in the last (almost) two years of my writing career. I will even keep working on my comma addiction (every editor I’ve ever had will likely approve of that one!) and keep expanding my general repertoire. I can’t say what I’ll yet be bringing to the New Year except for the Living Victorious series. Book three is slowly coming together, this one’s a bit harder to write than the others due to a number of factors (damn characters!!) but the muse and I are getting there. I also plan to write more stories of a holiday specific nature, to go with my Christmas story of 2015, but that’s just a general idea with nothing yet written in stone.

So I will end this post with wishing all my friends, family, readers, and fellow authors (no matter who you write for) all the very best in 2016. Prosperity, and peace to you all. ~ Moira

Planning ahead

I know no one wants to be thinking about any of this just yet. Believe me, I’m right there with you. But since I want to do this for my readers I need to be ahead of the game on it. Which means I need to start now to ensure there is time to get everything ready, and out. I am talking about Christmas Cards. Yup, that’s right. If you are interested in getting a card from me this year you can sign up via the Google form I’ve set up to take the requests. To access the form all you need to do is click the image below, or the one on my side bar.

XmasCards2015-Button(clickimage)

Link no longer active

I am also throwing in some extra little gifts for a select number of readers who sign up for a card. Anything from a free ebook* from my backlist, an Amazon Gift Card, to a seasonally appropriate piece of jewelry might be included in with your card. Those who sign up earliest have the greatest likelihood of receiving a gift. Don’t slack off if you want a goody – and do not forget to click the button at the bottom of the form to toss your name into the hat for a gift. Forget that and you won’t be in the running as I only have a set number of gifts to give away.

* If you were chosen to receive a free ebook there will be a little card with a six (6) digit number and my email included in the card. Email me that six (6) digit number, the title of your choice which you can check out on my Bookshelf (Anthologies are NOT included), and the format of your eReader (ie: Kindle, Nook, etc).

Release Day!

Two of these so close together, this is a first. But we have ourselves a new release out from Evernight Publishing. And no, that is not the royal “we”, I mean we the authors of the Bad Alpha Anthology, and our lovely co-releasing authors of the Bad Alpha: Manlove Anthology.

Last night’s FB party was epic, and I have to thank everyone that came out to support us on the eve of our release. But the most important news of all is that Bad Alpha is now available to read. Current available links are below, with more to come as they go live on my Bad Alpha Page here on the website. I hope everyone enjoys reading this collection. Writing Drakon’s Prize was fun, and a challenge too. But it turned out great, and I think it has found the perfect home in with the other authors unbelievably awesome reads.

Tiger’s Mate by April Zyon

Streak politics, and differences in opinions forced Kurt Owens to choose his own path. While it may be outside of the law in many regards he sees it as ensuring justice for the true victims of crimes when the system fails them. It’s his way of seeing the guilty pay, and keeping his own inner beast in check with the violence, and blood it craves.

Everyone thinks having a super power would be great. Alexa Harold would beg to differ. She’s been cursed to see ghosts, the dead not yet having gone to their final resting place, or judgment, or wherever they belong. They track her down, and harass her until she’s ready to go mad. Learning early in life what she needs to avoid has been the only saving grace in keeping her sanity intact.

Then she sees a man who couldn’t possibly be real. It was just her luck that such a prime specimen would in fact be deceased. Only he isn’t, and he’s taking notice of her. With a little temptation, some mystery, and a taunt he leaves her wanting more.

Kurt never thought he’d find his mate outside of the streak, or streak functions. While those of a supernatural inclination aren’t exactly rare, they have had to be careful and keep their population down. Alexa is the woman for him the only one he could ever want or need. And when her life is put in danger by his own past Kurt won’t stop until everyone understands to get to this tiger’s mate, they’ll have to get through him.

Another one completed

Living Victorious 2 has officially been submitted to Evernight Publishing for consideration to publish. I’m just happy to have it done. This story has given me more than a couple problems during it’s creation. First a scene that wouldn’t gel, and then the epilogue which I ended up rewriting four times to get it right. But it’s done, and in my publisher’s hands now to look at to see if they want it. What a relief!

I haven’t started book 3 yet, but I do have an idea fermenting in the brain on where it will go. It will feature the lead singer for Victorious, Jeremy Shane. His leading lady is still a mystery to me. I know what her job is, and how she’ll come into the bands life, but she hasn’t told me her name. It could make writing the next book difficult if she doesn’t pipe up soon.

Well I think that is it. I need to be to work on LV3, and figure out my leading ladies name. I hope you all have a lovely night ~ Moira

A big thank you!

I wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful folks that came out to support Evernight at the Summer Kick Off Party yesterday. I met many a new reader, and got to chat with a few I’ve known for a while now, it was great! While I was only there for an hour everyone kept me on my toes. I really need to start thinking through my questions before I have to post them. That one about the favorite treats nearly did me in. I was dying of starvation by the end of it, and ended up raiding my cupboards rather quickly.

As always in the beginning an hour seems like forever. What am I going to talk about? What can I do to keep folks engaged? But then the hour flies by and I’m left at the tail end wondering where the time went, lol! So once more, thank you to everyone that joined us all – I had a blast.

WINNERS!

To that end I thought I should announce my winners here on my site as well. I’ve been in contact with three so far, and am waiting on one more but they all deserve the recognition. The first three were random draws, and the last prize was me being in a giving mood. So here they are, the winners!

Each of you were new names to learn, and it was great to meet you. All prizes (hard items) will be mailed next week, and electronic ones will be going out this weekend. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again. ~ Moira

Release Day!

dangerous-reactions2The day is finally here! I know many have been waiting on this book, thank you for being so very patient with me, but this one I could not rush. Mostly so I got everything right, but also because it is the last C&M Security book for a while. I needed it to be as close to perfect as I could make it. Okay, okay. As close to perfect as my editor, the lovely Jessica Ruth could make it. She really helped to iron out kinks I hadn’t realized were there. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jessica for all your hard work.

Now that Dangerous Reactions is out I can turn my mind to other books. Mainly my newest series. The muse has been riding me hard to get a bit down every night. So I am off to the writing cave to get her off my back for the evening as soon as I give you all the links I currently have available for book 6. And here they are:

Evernight  |  Bookstrand  |  Amazon (US)  |  Amazon (CA)  |  All Romance

Of course all the links can be found on the Dangerous Reactions page at any time. Including all the ones that will go live in the next week or so. Well, I’m off to grab a snack, and settle in to do as the muse hath biddeth me to do. Have a great Friday, and an even more amazing weekend. ~ Moira

Hello again Friday

WeekendHow is it that the week takes so long to be over, and yet a weekend goes by in the blink of an eye? Really doesn’t seem fair that the worst portion is so dragged out. But another one has finally bit the dust, and the weekend is before us once more. Not entirely sure what I will get up to, but there will be writing.

My current WIP is going well. I’m at the point of starting to wind it down but still need to have something crop up to push into, and follow through to the next planned book. While I have these loosely planned out I’m also letting the characters pull the story where it needs to go since they’d only steamroller me if I didn’t. They can be quite pushy when they want to be.

Other news is that I’m waiting on second round of edits for C&M Security 6, Dangerous Reactions. Quite excited to get this book out and into the hands of my readers. As it’s the last one in the series, at least for the moment, I know they’ve been waiting a while for it to arrive. It’s also a huge closure book for one particular plot line that’s been running through a couple of the books to this point. It’s other task is to answer more questions about the series by giving a look back before C&M was set up, and uncovering the mystery that is Robyn Matthews – the “M” in C&M Security. Hopefully it’s a hit with everyone that’s read the series up to this point. Fingers crossed!

What else is there to share? Oh, yes. I have another story coming out in an anthology. It will be my first paranormal story, and was a blast to write. Date of release isn’t yet decided as they are still accepting submissions to it so you’ll have to wait on news about that until toward the end of May. Best guess is an August release based on how the last one worked once the date of cut off came around. But it is a rough guess only.

Well I think that might be it. I am off to finish laundry, and then get some rest. Tomorrow will be a day full of writing. Have a fantastic weekend ~ Moira
