Slowly we are delving ever deeper into the lives of the band members that make up Victorious. In this book we meet the groups bassist, Shade Benson. Years ago he met a young girl who would become his best friend, and as they grew up together they would fall in love. Then life happened and they were pulled apart. Time passes as it is wont to do, and when they finally meet up again the sparks flicker, and begin a slow hot burn that turns into so much more.

I had the pleasure of working with yet another fabulous Evernight Publishing editor on this story. Pretty sure I’ve met almost all of them by this point, lol! Ms. Audrey was a delight to work with, and helped to smooth out the rough edges as well as tamp down my slight comma addiction to a dull roar. Although I will point out, I did not use as many in this story as in The Rhythm. Maybe I’m starting to learn – at least a little.

Countdown continues…

Only a few hours remain before I am winging my way south to meet up with my bestie, April Zyon. It is my first real (ie: non-staycation) in years. I can’t wait to get there, see Ms. April again, and have fun in The Big Easy. First order of business…sleep. Second order of business is beignets and cafe au lait at Cafe Du Monde. Then it’s a bunch of wandering, discovering, and photo taking.

In other fabulous news, The Bass, Living Victorious has a release date of November 12th. That’s 2 weeks from now for those scrambling for a calendar. Cover art will be next for me to receive, and hopefully I will be able to share that soon. Very excited to see what the wonderful Jay Aheer might come up with for this one. I gave her the reins on this cover since she did such a fabulous job on my last one – I didn’t want to restrict her creativity one iota. But now I’m all twitchy to see it. Having the cover makes the impending release that much more real.

Well I think that is it. I have a few more random items to toss in my bag in the morning, but otherwise I’m packed and anxious to head off. So I shall bid you adieu for tonight, and head to my bed so I can be up early to finish getting ready and ensuring I have all the actual necessities. Passport, charger for my phone, my purse, keys, you know – the stuff that you walk out the door without and then five steps later remember you need. Living Victorious 2 has officially been submitted to Evernight Publishing for consideration to publish. I’m just happy to have it done. This story has given me more than a couple problems during it’s creation. First a scene that wouldn’t gel, and then the epilogue which I ended up rewriting four times to get it right. But it’s done, and in my publisher’s hands now to look at to see if they want it. What a relief!

I haven’t started book 3 yet, but I do have an idea fermenting in the brain on where it will go. It will feature the lead singer for Victorious, Jeremy Shane. His leading lady is still a mystery to me. I know what her job is, and how she’ll come into the bands life, but she hasn’t told me her name. It could make writing the next book difficult if she doesn’t pipe up soon.

In other news the Bad Alpha, and the Bad Alpha: Manlove anthologies are releasing on Friday August 21st. I am in the Bad Alpha anthology with nine other marvelous authors. It is currently up for pre-order, with a special price if you one click it before the day of release. To celebrate the releases Evernight Publishing, and the authors are doing a pre-release party on Facebook on Thursday August 20th. All kinds of links are below.

Where to begin?

TheRhythm-evernightpublishing-JayAheer2015-finalimage It’s been a while since my last post. To that end oh where to begin with all the news to share? I suppose with the news about the first book in my new series. The Rhythm, Living Victorious will be out on Wednesday August 12, 2015. YAY! I loved writing this book, and my editor on it was amaze-a-balls!

The entire series revolves around the rock band, Victorious. They have done the unheard of and never once had an interview. Of any sort! Not that they completely shut out the media, but they did have an extremely tight leash on things thanks to their manager. In book one of the series we meet the sexy drummer for the band, Lance West. He talks the other four members, and their manager into allowing a journalist into their midst with full, twenty-four access to them all for several months. That lucky journalist is Jennifer Mitchell who Lance has a wee bit of a crush on. Which makes it very interesting for everyone. For a look at the excerpt you can check it out on the page here. BadAlhaMF-evernightpublishing-jayaheer2015-Complete Then on August 21, 2015 comes out the next Anthology from Evernight which I’m blessed to be a part of with nine other fabulous authors. Bad Alpha is all paranormal, all Alpha, and well worth a read in my most humble of opinions. (Buy this book!) For a look at my story in the Anthology, Drakon’s Prize, you can check it out on the page here. Drakon is one bad ass Dragon, and I truly hope everyone enjoys my first foray into the paranormal arena. Also for everyone who might wonder, there will be a Manlove version coming out on the same date – Evernight is always thinking about all their readers, and their preferred reading choices.

I am still, yes still, working on book two of the Living Victorious series tentatively titled, The Bass. Which as soon as you read book one you’ll figure out who it’s all about, lol! Or rather you should if you’re following my “logic” with the book titles. If not you can get a wee idea on it from my WIP’s page here. I’m getting closer to being finished, with only a few more things to add in to round it all out along with a bit of a lead in to the third book of the series. If my muse plays nice I should have it done this weekend, or damn close to it. If not for a visit to see the relatives I’d have worked on it this past, long weekend. Sadly when I’m there writing takes a very distant backseat to everything they have planned. I always come back from those visits more exhausted than when I left. They are damn exhausting people! But I do love them. They are so lucky…

Let’s see, what else? Book 1 of Victorious, Bad Alpha release, mentioned book 2 of Victorious… Nope, I think that covers it all. For the moment. So many pretties!

One of the best things ever about being an author is getting your cover artwork. It’s like the first piece of the puzzle of what’s to come next. With EP’s Anthologies we get the pretties early – which is fantastic. I love having something to drool over before the anxiety of edits starts. And these are un-freaking-real! Jay Aheer, the cover artist for the Anthology, did yet another amazing job in creating something fabulous. A genius is all I can say. And so I share some of these goodies that I got on Tuesday with you, enjoy.

Soooooo pretty… I could stare at these for hours, upon hours, upon hours. But I must tear my gaze away from them to attend to other things. Like first round of edits which hit my inbox today. Haven’t looked yet, but I’m hoping it’s not too bad. After that I must get to writing, because writing is goooooood.

I’ve been thrown completely off my normal schedule due to a familial obligation of the birthday sort last weekend – singing and all. This is something I must rectify this weekend by getting back into the swing of things. Book 2 of my Living Victorious series is calling to me. I left my characters in a most awkward place. Not sure if I’ll pick up there or in the next chapter. My muse is a bit … oh what is the word I want here? … “preoccupied” works I think. She’s being a bit flighty as well, not a good trait to have in a muse for those that are curious.

Need to get her back on target once more. Should be an interesting challenge, and keep me busy for a few hours. But at least she’s giving me lots of great ideas for the book. That definitely counts for something. Anyway, I am off to get dinner going, and see if I can coax a couple thousand words out of the muse. Keeping on task

My muse has decided to give me an extra task of late. Writing two different stories, with a bunch of bits and pieces for others laying on the sidelines apparently isn’t enough. Now she’s added in random thought processes to my writing time. For example, I was writing the build up to the first sexual encounter between two characters when she suddenly threw out this idea for later in the story. Of course I have to jot it down. Don’t know if it will be used, but it’s better to have it and not need it then to sit there attempting to remember what it is later.

Now this probably sounds like a great thing. To a degree it is. Unfortunately it has a terrible side effect. I end up distracted by the new thought, and can’t remember where the hell I was in the scene! This insanity has been going on for two nights now. I don’t know what the hell my muse is up to but I think I may need to give her one heck of a stern talking to.

In other news these bouts of distraction have led me to go looking for new inspiration for my various scenes. I have a whole new, and very interesting collection of men for my folder. So many pretties to look at, not enough will power to look away. Oh what is an author to do? And with that I leave you for now. I really need to duct tape my muse to one spot, and get some writing done. Book 2 for Living Victorious is going well, but she’s not making it easy to write this first sex scene. Time to buckle down ~ Moira

I wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful folks that came out to support Evernight at the Summer Kick Off Party yesterday. I met many a new reader, and got to chat with a few I’ve known for a while now, it was great! While I was only there for an hour everyone kept me on my toes. I really need to start thinking through my questions before I have to post them. That one about the favorite treats nearly did me in. I was dying of starvation by the end of it, and ended up raiding my cupboards rather quickly.

As always in the beginning an hour seems like forever. What am I going to talk about? What can I do to keep folks engaged? But then the hour flies by and I’m left at the tail end wondering where the time went, lol! So once more, thank you to everyone that joined us all – I had a blast.

Hello long weekend!

Happy Easter to everyone. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. I will be off visiting my familial relations, eating too much, and not getting enough sleep because they seem to think that four hours is more than enough. For the record, it’s not. I need at least six to be semi-coherent, eight if you actually want to hold a conversation, and coffee is a must. Otherwise run, just run.

Though I will be elsewhere this weekend I shall have a #SexySnippet ready to go live for Sunday. This one will definitely have a little heat to it. So be prepared. I figured it was only right to give you a bit of a warning. As with the last few Sunday’s it will be from C&M Security 6.

In other projects… I’m making good progress on my first stint into the Paranormal realm. The story, for the most part, is clicking nicely and coming quick. Every now and again I end up hitting a spot where my brain runs out of stuff to send through to my fingers and I sit back sorta “whoa!” as I collect myself. This leads to the need to read what I just wrote, and then hope it kick starts the creative process again. Last night I had myself a bit of a giggle since I trailed off at a critical moment in a sex scene. I had the mental image of my hero poised, ready to go, and toppling over because I couldn’t figure out what was happening next.

I know, I’m a bit odd. I think it comes with the whole “author” territory. After all we have voices in our heads that we listen to for the purpose of creating elaborate fictional worlds. Though I admit when they start arguing it’s a little weird to have to step in. LOL!

Well I think that’s about it for the moment. I have to finish packing, make sure I don’t forget my charger for either of my links to the online world (phone & computer) and I should be good to go. So, once more, Happy Easter, and enjoy the weekend! ~ Moira
