Countdown continues…

Airplane in the sky at sunset

Only a few hours remain before I am winging my way south to meet up with my bestie, April Zyon. It is my first real (ie: non-staycation) in years. I can’t wait to get there, see Ms. April again, and have fun in The Big Easy. First order of business…sleep. Second order of business is beignets and cafe au lait at Cafe Du Monde. Then it’s a bunch of wandering, discovering, and photo taking.

In other fabulous news, The Bass, Living Victorious has a release date of November 12th. That’s 2 weeks from now for those scrambling for a calendar. Cover art will be next for me to receive, and hopefully I will be able to share that soon. Very excited to see what the wonderful Jay Aheer might come up with for this one. I gave her the reins on this cover since she did such a fabulous job on my last one – I didn’t want to restrict her creativity one iota. But now I’m all twitchy to see it. Having the cover makes the impending release that much more real.

Well I think that is it. I have a few more random items to toss in my bag in the morning, but otherwise I’m packed and anxious to head off. So I shall bid you adieu for tonight, and head to my bed so I can be up early to finish getting ready and ensuring I have all the actual necessities. Passport, charger for my phone, my purse, keys, you know – the stuff that you walk out the door without and then five steps later remember you need. Have a great week, and there will be many NoLa pictures to come. ~ Moira

New series coming soon!

I’m very happy, and super excited to announce that I will have a new series coming soon from Evernight Publishing. I received the acceptance over the weekend, and have been floating on cloud 9 since then. I had to wait to announce it until I signed the contract of course – so I could give my readers an idea of when it will be coming out. This will be coming out July 2015 – eeee!

Accepted3

The new series is called “Living Victorious”. It’s a Contemporary Erotic Romance series that follows the lives of the members of the band Victorious. And it’s not all sunshine, hot babes, and wild parties. Although there will be some of that in the books as well.

The first book in this series is The Rhythm. In this book readers will meet all the band members, but become intimately familiar with the drummer, Lance West. He’s a man that prefers to stay in the background so sitting behind a set of drums is the perfect spot in his mind. It allows him to play the music that pours out of his soul, while not being in the spotlight. He’ll be getting one hell of a shock in this book as his life is flipped upside down, and all around. But the biggest shock for Lance won’t come until nearly the end of the series.

This is only my second series so far for me. It will also be one that I need to keep very close track of what happens book to book. While I let my characters have free rein for the most part I do need to keep certain aspects in mind, and try to keep them all on track so everything comes to light as it should. This may prove to me challenging.

Well that’s all I have right now. I’m off to keep working on book 2 of the series, and my other WIP that my muse seems to want to write at the same time to keep me on my toes. Have a lovely evening ~ Moira

Book 6’s been accepted!

Happy Saint Patrick’s day first off to everyone. I hope everyone had a lovely green infused day. I’m very happy to announce that the long awaited book 6 of the C&M Security series, Dangerous Reactions, has been accepted by Evernight Publishing. Projected date of release is May 2015.

Accepted2

This is the prequel for the series, as well as the end of the series as it stands currently. I’m not saying that I’m never coming back to this series – I love the C&M crew – but I am at a stopping point for now. I had six books planned when I started it, and now I’ll have six books published. I can definitely say that at some point in the future I will revisit this group. At what point, or where in their stories I couldn’t even guess.

In other news I’m off attempting to write a paranormal story now. I’m not quite sure where the characters are leading me, but I’m sure it will be interesting to say the least. Most of my characters are, well, “characters” lol! We’ll see where they are going, and where they are leading me. Until then I’m only along for the ride.

Well I think that’s it for now, I’m off to write. Hope everyone has a lovely night ~ Moira

Book 5’s been accepted!

So very happy to say that Evernight Publishing accepted book 5 of the C&M Security series on Monday. I just signed the contracts so now that it’s a done deal I can share the wonderful news. This book is the last in the current time line of the series for a short while, as book 6 will be a prequel to give some more details of where the C&M crew all started out from. Should be a blast!

Accepted grunge stamp

Not sure when I’ll be starting book 6 though. I have something else, very undefined though, rattling around in my head. I may need to poke at that a little first and see where it leads. Or at least maybe clear it out of my head so I can focus on the next instalment of the series at hand. I have the premise already worked out in my head for book 6, just haven’t yet heard the characters put in anything. Definitely know what needs to go into it though so that’s a plus. Lot’s of background of course, more in depth knowledge about each of the characters already introduced, and then meeting some of those that may yet have their own book down the line. Haven’t decided yet if I plan to do more with the C&M series after this prequel. I think it’s all up in the air until I figure out what all this next book will reveal about the “world” they live in.

For now though, I’m going to have a celebratory bevvie, watch a movie, and chill out for the evening. I’ve got nothing much planned except for some relaxation. Who knows, might shake something loose that will be useful. Until next time folks ~ Moira

A very happy Hump Day!

Such a great day in a number of ways. Firstly it’s Wednesday, Hump Day and halfway to the weekend on the downhill slide. So that’s a huge plus! But to top it all off, I can officially say that C&M Security book 4 – Dangerous Circumstances – has been accepted by Evernight Publishing for a November release. The contract has been signed, the cover art form filled out, and sent in – so it’s as official as it gets. Yay!

In other news book 5 of the series is happily chattering away in my head, so I’m working on that. It’s going to be a bit more of a challenge for me since I’m telling most of the ending, right at the beginning. I just hope my characters know what the hell they are talking about because this could go horribly wrong real fast. Thank gawd I have my little sheet of important details readily at hand otherwise this could really be a mess, and a half.

The only thing the little buggers (aka: the characters) have yet to reveal, is how this one ends. They are keeping even me in suspense, though I get the sense they might not be too sure how this is all going to end. Hopefully we all figure it out by the time I get there, LOL!

And because I was a little distracted earlier, I figure I’ll share my distractions with you. Have a fantastic night! ~ Moira

Here comes book two…

dangerous-secretsHappy Sunday everyone! I hope everyone is have a fabulous day. I know I am despite the very early hour I got up today, despite how late I hit my pillow last night – really it was earlier this morning. But up I did get, I was even very productive given how foggy minded I was. Did up a loaf of bread while I did a bit of cleaning, am now on a second pot of coffee and still need to get some shopping done as well as helping out a friend with a wee bit of a task. Bonus of staying up late last night, I got the bits and pieces for a little video promo.

Which, speaking of, is for book two of the C&M Security series. Dangerous Secrets will be out on August 13 – this coming Wednesday. For a look at what the book is about you can head over to the Dangerous Secrets page for a peek. There is also a video over there too from a fellow author, April Zyon who is also a part of the Evernight Family. I will post up the links as soon as I have them, Evernight will be first – of course – and likely Tuesday evening since they can get it posted quickly. Then with the others to follow as soon as I get them.

Now for a little something you might not know. I have a group set up on Facebook that are strictly for the readers of my works, or friends of readers, or just fans. If you, or anyone you know, is interested you should come on over. The group is called Moira’s Maidens since that’s what was the most liked option. There are exclusive sneak peeks, teasers and excerpts not found anywhere else, even on my personal or fan page. Right now there’s the entire first chapter of Dangerous Secrets up for anyone who’d like to join up. We even occasionally have cookies.

That’s it everyone. I have to get my butt in gear and get moving. Have a lovely day ~ Moira

First in a series…

dangeroustimes1sComing this Thursday Dangerous Times, is the first book of the C&M Security series. I’m very excited about this series, it’s my first one, and it’s also a slightly different take for me on a romantic story. It’s got mystery, it’s got danger, and it’s got some good old fashioned heat.

In book one we get to meet the delightfully adorable, Tamara Phillips. She’s a photographer who lives on her caffeinated beverages and hates mornings. Okay, I admit, those two traits are all me. Gotta put a little of yourself into your works, right? She meets up again with the sinfully sexy, Shawn Camden. He’s co-owner in C&M Security – the “C” if you need a hint as to how I came up with the name of his company.

I had a lot of fun writing this first book in the series. It was a great stretch of my abilities to try something new. Never having done anything with a bit of mystery behind it, and keeping the “big secret” actually a secret to the end, was definitely a challenge. So many times I caught myself giving something away that I knew would just ruin the effect I was attempting to create.

Thankfully my editor, the wonderfully talented Laurie Temple, was on my side of keeping the “secret” a secret. Normally not identifying a key character is a no-no, but in this case it was necessary to assist in leading the reader along just so. Then, at the end, WHAM! Big reveal. I also have to give a shout out to the talented cover artist who does all the Evernight Publishing covers, Sour Cherry Designs did a fantabulous job on the cover for this – so thanks!

That’s it for tonight I think, I have writing to do, characters to mess with, and a plot to twist up into knots. ~ Moira

Time’s a draggin’

Ugh. It’s a long weekend up here in Canada this weekend. But it’s taking so-o-o-o long to get here! Why? Oh why couldn’t it have been Friday already? Ugh.

I desperately need one of these. One where I’m not dashing out of town to help out the parents. One where I can just be in my jammies all the time and to hell with any need to go outside. One where I might actually get all my cleaning done early so I can enjoy the entire time stress and worry and anything else free. Ah, now there’s a lovely thought.

In other news I’m getting close on my WIP. I hit a speed bump a few days ago and had to do a fix to get it rolling again. I don’t know what I was thinking trying to write while utterly exhausted, not very smart at all. I do not write well when my brain is mush. But! I’m back on track once more and it’s going well once more. I might be a smidge behind my original schedule for completion but I don’t think it will be by much. Finish it up this weekend, do a little polishing and the ever important spell check and then submit.

I may end up waiting until Tuesday to submit, the Monday being the official holiday here, but other than that I shouldn’t be more than a day behind on my “plan”. Ha! Like I really ever have a plan lol! Well, I think that’s it. Sushi is on the menu tonight so I’m outta here folks ~ Moira

Sunday scribbles

Since the weather outside is rather frightful I’ve decided to hide out indoors where it’s warm and there’s coffee. Thankfully there doesn’t appear to be any more snow falling. Yet. Though, if the weather person’s to be believed, there will be more coming. So much for getting a good Spring for once. Ugh!

On the other hand, because it’s so craptacular outside I can stay in and write. Which good, cause that’s where the coffee is. And since I have to do a few household chores I can do those during my stretch breaks. Yes, I take stretch breaks, otherwise I get all tense and hunched over. Not good. But when you’re in the groove, writing like mad, you assume whatever position works best to get the words out as fast as possible.

Since my paranormals have been giving me grief, nasty little buggers, I’m working on book two of my other series. Book one comes out in June, date to be decided. I figure if I get this one done up quick enough I just might have one for July. Be nice to keep a regular publishing schedule for the readers I’m hoping to collect.

Oh, that sounds bad, lol! But I’m sure you get my meaning and that I meant absolutely no disrespect. Readers are the ones that make or break authors. Well, them and reviewers but I haven’t had to deal with reviewers yet so one worry at a time.

Well, I think that’s all for the moment, I’m off and running. ~ Moira

Snow day

Yup, you read that right. Woke up to snow on the ground with more snow falling from the sky. Yes, it’s May, no this is not unusual in my part of the Canadian landscape. Being as close to the Rocky Mountains as I (and a few hundred thousand others) am, it’s a rather depressing and icky reality. I hate snow. So-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o much.

But that’s something I cannot control so I will try not to focus too much on it, even with the collection clearly visible on my balcony railing that continues to get deeper. No, there are much more happy and awesome things to consider.

Like the fact that I have a date for the release of Forever Kind of Love. It will be releasing on May 7, 2014 – that’s Wednesday so you know. I also got a peek at the cover for the book (which I will share as soon as I’m permitted) and it is freaking AWESOME! Sour Cherry Designs is the Evernight Publishing cover artist and, OMG! Totally went deep into my mind and plucked out the most perfect design ever. I was stunned and at a total lack of words when I saw it. Which, for me, is unusual. I always have something to say – not always nice, not always polite and usually sarcastic – but I’m never one not to have something to say. Sour Cherry Designs did the impossible.

And, because I’m in a giving and sharing mood, I figured I’d also give you something beyond the (now edited & approved) blurb and excerpt from the Forever Kind of Love page. So, enjoy! ~ Moira

Veronica Roni Malone, the girl of his dreams. A lot of dreams, actually. Fuck, she’d starred in his teenage imaginings and it had been better than anything in his old man’s porn collection. She’d made high school enjoyable for him.
But he’d never pushed her for more, though he’d had an inkling that she would have been all right with that. But he’d never had a girl that was just a friend. Usually, all the girls around him had wanted was his body. Or his class notes, which had been meticulous, thank you very much.
Roni had known him better than he had known himself, not that he’d have admitted that at the time. Hell no. But he could see it now, and she’d stood by him through a few rough patches in their senior year. Including Tiffany Selorski and her lies.
Hell, Roni had given him an alibi and, thankfully, the one that had actually gotten Tiffany pregnant had been outed. Again, all thanks to his best girl, Roni.
She really hadn’t changed much from back in the day. Oh, she was a little taller and a little softer in all the right places and, holy shit. She had a rack on her. Yes, he’d noticed, so sue him.
Shaking his head, he pushed off the car and shut the hood. Giving it a quick wipe, he patted the side panel and went to his office, the dreaded paperwork waiting for him. The only part of owning five shops that killed him? All the fucking paperwork that seemed to try to drown him on a regular basis.
After checking with his receptionist, seventeen-year-old Daniella, he took his messages and shut himself in his office. Sitting down behind his desk, he thumbed through the pile but they didn’t hold his attention, so he tossed them on the desk. Spinning his chair around he stared out over the wooded lot behind his shop, but all he saw was Roni.
She’d looked amazing. When he’d first spotted her, he’d nearly tripped over himself to get to her as fast as he could. Fucking girl had grown into one hell of a sexy woman. Curves to make a man beg and a pouty little look about her lips that made him want to give her the world.
