Oh my horribly

Aching joints and muscles! Ack! Whoever said a desk job puts little to no strain on your body has never worked at my lurverly place of employment. By boss is a sadist I swear! His motto is, if you don’t feel the burn by noon and are ready to die by the end of the day than you have not worked hard enough.

A SADIST!

The reason why, you may or may not ask, but I’m telling you anyway because it’s my blog and I can so pfft! Because it’s his project, his baby, his blah, blah, blah… Whatever. If it’s anyone else’s, we get a m’eh. But if it’s his then we have to be all hands on deck for however long he can legally work our asses in a day.

A slave driver, that’s another accurate term for him.

Because he is. The man does not have an off switch. Again, if it’s his “baby”. Anyone else’s and we can’t get the time of day. Yeesh!

So, the point of all this… I ache, head to toe ache. OMFG! If I didn’t have enough coffee (aka: caffeine) running through my blood stream to power a small city for a week I’d try to sleep. But, I do. I’m a coffee addict. Sue me. Hopefully my body will burn through it quickly and then I can just pass out for however many hours I can manage and wake feeling…well, less achy is pretty much my only goal. LOL!

Off to hunt down some sort of muscle relaxant ~ Moira

Holy mother

Of a brain fry! Damn it. How can one persons brain be so cooked and exhausted? Mine brain is like mush, soggy mush at that.

I was doing well until the caffeine started to clear my system. Obviously I should’ve had that extra XL coffee today, lol! But I didn’t, I resisted the seductive lure of the caffeinated beverage and now am paying the price. It’s not even nine and I’m ready to crawl into bed.

But, I am resisting that siren’s lure as well, otherwise I’ll be up at some ungodly early hour of the morning. I don’t do the butt crack of dawn well, especially on weekends. Those are my days to sleep in, to relax and to just vegetate. Though I will have to do some laundry I fear. Otherwise I will have to wear my jammies to work all next week. Which, in my mind isn’t a bad thing. But the boss frowns on that shit. Which, given his wardrobe, he really shouldn’t be casting stones.

So yes, sleeping in, laundry and some writing I think is the plan for the weekend. Which, given how nasty ass cold it’s supposed to be, is a damned fine plan by me. No way in hell am I going out of doors unless it’s an absolute emergency. In other words, if I run out of Pepsi, I’m going out in that nasty shit come hell or high waters.

But I might be slightly addicted to the Pepsi. Thankfully there are no AA sort of meetings around here for Pepsi drinkers lol! Otherwise I might be guilted into attending. Doubtful, but you never know.

And now that I’ve totally been rambling on for a good ten minutes, I’m going to find something to watch for an hour and then crashing for the night. ~ Moira

It’s another

Hump day! Yep, that’s right, here we are at the middle of the week and cruising for a weekend. Sadly, not a long weekend, but a weekend nonetheless. Weekends are great, they give me the necessary time to decompress and to think about what to do to my latest characters.

Speaking of characters, I sent off my cover “to-do” list to the publisher late last night after hemming and hawing over the “blurb” that would help “sell” this book. Damn thing was hard to write! Harder than the entire book I should mention. But, it is done and gone, hallelujah!

Now I can just sit back, relax and come up with book number two. No clue what it’s going to be about, still haven’t really figured that part out, but I’ll get there eventually. I have the characters yacking up a storm so that’s good. Still need to figure out a bit of conflict for them both though, add a little something to the story.

M’eh, I’ll figure that out eventually I think, maybe, probably. All right, enough of that, I’m going to go and surf the Net for a while ~ Moira

Hello Friday

So nice to see you again, you really need to visit more you know. This once a week bullshit is just not working for me. And really, who the heck came up with a five day work week and two day weekend?! That just feels so backwards to me.

Oh well, until I’m either rich and/or famous, I suppose I will have to just suck it up and deal. Come on fairy godmother! Where are you at woman?! LOL!

It was one hell of a week though at the DJ (day job for future reference). Had someone out the entire week, unexpectedly of course, which made for one big damn mess. But, I survived and treated myself to a little sushi for lunch and Italian for dinner. Probably not the best plan but since I don’t have anyone to impress tonight I’ll just keep the windows open to ensure I don’t gas myself to death.

No plans for the weekend except the usual. Pay some bills, do some writing and surf the Net here and there. Though I may go and check out a shoe sale. Also heard that one of the shops around here was having a handbag sale. Now that, that could get me in trouble. Shoes I’m just not into. I have a few pairs but really, not my thing. Purses though can get me purring fast and usually burning through my card even faster. Damn these people for making such pretty accessories!

Well, I think that’s it for the moment. I am off to go and catch up with my characters and see what mayhem we can all unleash as a collective. Have a good one ~ Moira

Starting to enjoy this

And, by “this”, I of course mean the wonderful weather. Cause, come on, snow is great and all…for the first two hours and then it sucks for the next six months. So the fact that we have temps in the pluses -and I’m talking in Celsius not Fahrenheit- is a huge plus. Especially in March!

Of course, being Canadian, I also know that it won’t be that easy to slip free of the shadow of evil that is winter. Not at all. No, there will be at least one more major snow storm that tries to beat us all down into shivering balls of goo. But it won’t win, never does, and we shall come out all the better for it.

As we shade our eyes unused to the bright sunlight, our pasty white skin blinding even to ourselves as we soak up the too long without heat of the sun. Slipping out of our bulky gear of protection against the frosty temperatures we once again enjoy not being weighted down to withstand gale force winds of ice, sleet and snow trying to sandblast our flesh from our bones. It is a most glorious time, dear friends, glorious indeed!

You may have guessed I’m slightly upbeat about this whole warming trend we apparently are on. And I am so-o-o-o-o not going to argue with anyone about the fact that we’re going to be sitting above that zero mark (32F for the rest of you) for the next fourteen days – according to the Weather Network. Fingers crossed they aren’t lying to us but, really, they are weather people so we know they have to be lying about something.

But, that’s all I have to say tonight as I sit with my patio door open enjoying the slight breeze drifting in. Yup, windows are open biotches! HA! Night ~ Moira

Brains still not fully in gear

It’s true, my brain is still sluggish and like it’s slipping a gear. For those out there that actually drive standard, you’ll know what I mean, for those who have only ever run around in their little automatics, tsk, tsk. But sadly, I fear that is the way the automotive industry is heading, automated everything so the driver doesn’t have to do anything but keep it on the road. Not that some folks are all that good at that.

But! That is a tirade for another day since I’m not currently driving anything. I shall keep my lips sealed on the insanity on the road. But should I ever have the need to get mobile again on wheels, oh…then there will be tirades. LOL!

No, I am doing my “part for the environment”. Which is an awesome spin on the fact that I can walk to work, the grocery store, the drug store, the BOOK store. Yeah, the BOOK store. I love going into a book store and breathing in the scent of the newly unpacked books fresh from some printing place somewhere. I love my iPhone and all the other iToys I have, they are great for travelling without hauling along my library to keep myself entertained during travel and down time. But there is honestly nothing better than a brand new book.

Opening it for the first time (though never the last), running your fingers down the paper whether it’s a trademark paperback or a hard cover book, doesn’t matter. The sensation of the ink on the page, the feel of the paper under your fingertips, that first paper cut to christen it in blood. Ah yes, good times.

So while I will always have a few hot reads on my iToy of the day, there is nothing better than the weight of a book in hand as you flip that crisp page to continue the journey with your favourite characters. But that’s just me and, wow, I have zero clue what this post was actually supposed to be about.

Huh… Well, I wrote a full post about not much of anything. Sounds like a “Seinfeld” episode to me, lol! If you’re too young to know what that is, you really shouldn’t be on this page.

Anyway, I may or may not have something to do. Honestly can’t remember, maybe I left myself a note. So I’m off ~ Moira
