Countdown continues…

Airplane in the sky at sunset

Only a few hours remain before I am winging my way south to meet up with my bestie, April Zyon. It is my first real (ie: non-staycation) in years. I can’t wait to get there, see Ms. April again, and have fun in The Big Easy. First order of business…sleep. Second order of business is beignets and cafe au lait at Cafe Du Monde. Then it’s a bunch of wandering, discovering, and photo taking.

In other fabulous news, The Bass, Living Victorious has a release date of November 12th. That’s 2 weeks from now for those scrambling for a calendar. Cover art will be next for me to receive, and hopefully I will be able to share that soon. Very excited to see what the wonderful Jay Aheer might come up with for this one. I gave her the reins on this cover since she did such a fabulous job on my last one – I didn’t want to restrict her creativity one iota. But now I’m all twitchy to see it. Having the cover makes the impending release that much more real.

Well I think that is it. I have a few more random items to toss in my bag in the morning, but otherwise I’m packed and anxious to head off. So I shall bid you adieu for tonight, and head to my bed so I can be up early to finish getting ready and ensuring I have all the actual necessities. Passport, charger for my phone, my purse, keys, you know – the stuff that you walk out the door without and then five steps later remember you need. Have a great week, and there will be many NoLa pictures to come. ~ Moira

MY FIRST BOOK RELEASED WITH EVERNIGHT…

FKOL

Released:  May 7, 2014

Taylor Granger was the one. Veronica “Roni” Malone knew it the first moment she saw him. He made her heart race and her palms sweat. Who cared that they were only in high school. She knew. Heartbroken when life pulled them in different directions, Roni spent the next twenty years trying to fill the gaping hole in her heart. When her beloved Mustang gets towed into Taylor’s mechanic shop, she knew she’d been given a second chance.

Taylor couldn’t believe his eyes. The woman who’d tortured his dreams stood in front of him again after all this time. Roni had rocked his world from day one, and he wasn’t about to let the best thing that ever happened to him get away again.

Back together, the fire sparks and passions burn as they try to find their way back to what they’d left behind and to the realization that their love had always been a forever kind of love.

MY MOST RECENT BOOK RELEASED WITH EVERNIGHT…

TheRhythm-evernightpublishing-JayAheer2015-finalimage

Released:  August 12, 2015

Jennifer Mitchell has only one goal in mind—she must get an interview with the band, Victorious. It’s a task many journalists have attempted over the last ten years, only to be shot down by the band’s manager. The fact she desperately wants to meet their drummer has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Being the drummer for Victorious allows Lance West to remain out of the spotlight, and still have an important role in creating the music their fans clamor for. Then he meets Jennifer. While she may be focused on an exclusive interview, Lance has other ideas for the sexy woman.

Screaming fans and thunderous applause might warm his blood, but Lance only wants one woman to warm his bed night after night. She is everything to him, the rhythm that soothes his scarred soul, and he’ll do whatever it takes to prove it.

Evernight Publishing gave me my start as a published author. The company, and its authors are one big family. The support I have received, and witnessed every day is awe inspiring, and I could not ask for a better place to be home to my books. From my first book, to my most recent I have grown as an author thanks to the editors who gently nudged, occasionally using a very big stick, while providing instruction to further my growth. I would not be putting out my soon to release ninth book without everyone’s support, faith, and assistance.

My birthday wish to Evernight, and everyone there:  Is to continue to grow, continue to prosper, and to have many more birthdays in the future. Happy 5th Birthday Evernight!

Release Day!

Two of these so close together, this is a first. But we have ourselves a new release out from Evernight Publishing. And no, that is not the royal “we”, I mean we the authors of the Bad Alpha Anthology, and our lovely co-releasing authors of the Bad Alpha: Manlove Anthology.

Last night’s FB party was epic, and I have to thank everyone that came out to support us on the eve of our release. But the most important news of all is that Bad Alpha is now available to read. Current available links are below, with more to come as they go live on my Bad Alpha Page here on the website. I hope everyone enjoys reading this collection. Writing Drakon’s Prize was fun, and a challenge too. But it turned out great, and I think it has found the perfect home in with the other authors unbelievably awesome reads.

Are you ready to learn how to tame a savage heart?

For Blood by J.R. Gray

The only way to end the war and stop the bloodshed is to marry the enemy. Every fiber of Roman wants to hate Victoria, but the more he sees, the more he craves her. Can he fight their past demons to be with her?

Felicia is on the run. Again. Her baby’s daddy broke her daughter’s arm the last time he caught up with them so she’s desperate to stay ahead of him. But her car breaks down and trouble finds her. Drakon’s Prize by Moira Callahan

Being the Alpha of a misfit clan of Dragons comes with its share of troubles. When the supernatural Council comes to Drakon Blackwood with yet another false claim against his clan he knows it’s time to make someone pay. Preferably with their life.

Allegra Hanson doesn’t work for the Council, and yet she’s been roped into assisting them in their investigation into the Blackwood clan’s supposed activities. Against her better judgment she goes to the clan’s lands to do what she can. What she never planned on was her visceral reaction to the Alpha.

The Blackwood clan land is valuable. Not for its location, but for what lies beneath the earth’s surface. Many will do anything to get it, one will stop at nothing, and is willing to kill Drakon’s woman to get it. Allegra is his, and there’s no way Drakon will lose the most precious prize of all.

Tiger’s Mate by April Zyon

Streak politics, and differences in opinions forced Kurt Owens to choose his own path. While it may be outside of the law in many regards he sees it as ensuring justice for the true victims of crimes when the system fails them. It’s his way of seeing the guilty pay, and keeping his own inner beast in check with the violence, and blood it craves.

Everyone thinks having a super power would be great. Alexa Harold would beg to differ. She’s been cursed to see ghosts, the dead not yet having gone to their final resting place, or judgment, or wherever they belong. They track her down, and harass her until she’s ready to go mad. Learning early in life what she needs to avoid has been the only saving grace in keeping her sanity intact.

Then she sees a man who couldn’t possibly be real. It was just her luck that such a prime specimen would in fact be deceased. Only he isn’t, and he’s taking notice of her. With a little temptation, some mystery, and a taunt he leaves her wanting more.

Kurt never thought he’d find his mate outside of the streak, or streak functions. While those of a supernatural inclination aren’t exactly rare, they have had to be careful and keep their population down. Alexa is the woman for him the only one he could ever want or need. And when her life is put in danger by his own past Kurt won’t stop until everyone understands to get to this tiger’s mate, they’ll have to get through him.

Dark Heart by Elyzabeth M. VaLey

The world is changing. Vampires are coming out and they’re not remotely similar to the sensual Hollywood portrait made of them. Little by little, Shifters are being unmasked and integration is waning. Panic is spreading. The government is losing control. Private agencies, such as SOA struggle to find a solution, but as the darkness grows, can one even exist?

Ten years ago, Daryl Jones lost his pack to a group of demon vampires. Since then, he not only lost his will to battle for good, his life has become a spiral of drinking, fighting and fucking anything in sight. In his opinion, a pretty perfect existence. Until, he meets the new SOA representative sent to convince him to go back to the lab. With mile long legs, a tight little ass and a smile to kill for, when she offers him a bargain, how can he possibly refuse?

Silvia Adams, has one mission: convince Daryl Jones to work for SOA again. The agency needs him to get back into the lab and help develop a serum to neutralize the growing number of vampires. She knew it wouldn’t be easy task, but with her job on the line, she’ll do anything it takes, including, bargaining with the shifter and surrendering to her deepest desires. Only problem is, she might have bartered for more than she can handle.

Resisting His Mate by Lynn Burke

Warrick Keaton eludes a forced pairing with one of his kind. No one is going to choose his mate for him, not when he wants nothing to do with being tied down to a woman. He never expects fate to intervene in the form of a freezing, barely alive female. With his independence in jeopardy, Warrick fights his inner hawk’s desire to stake a claim on her.

Clare Byron longs to escape her domineering ex-husband, a jealous bear shifter determined to keep her prisoner. She seizes the opportunity to run and lands in the arms of another alpha—exactly what she doesn’t want or need.

For Warrick, Clare is everything he’s ever wanted in a mate and all that he’s run from.

For Clare, Warrick is freedom in a way she never dreamed possible—the one man who will own her heart yet give her wings to fly.

Alpha’s Vixen by Jocelyn Dex

Dax is overwhelmed by desire when he catches the white fox trespassing on his land, and that totally pisses him off. He refuses to mate, no matter how much the fox inside him wants it, Dax definitely does not. Opal is instantly enamored with the menacing black fox, but isn’t surprised when he chases her away—no one ever wants her, the freak-of-nature albino.

When theft and violence bring them together again, will they give in to passion, or will their hang-ups force them apart?

The werewolves keep the humans blind to their existence by being careful. Someone isn’t following the rules. Someone is killing, with no regard for secrets. Release Day!

TheRhythm-evernightpublishing-JayAheer2015-finalimageIt’s that time again, release day! And with a brand new series no less. The idea for Living Victorious came out of nowhere one night. It was a tickle to begin with months ago. Like any author with a “tickle” of an idea, I wrote it down and set it aside. When I finished up with my C&M series the tickle turned into a poke. My muse wanted to get busy on writing some smoking hot rocker boys.

To that end, Living Victorious officially came alive. I’ve always had a clear vision for all the members of the band. Who they are, their roles, their quirks, and even their issues. It helped when I wrote The Rhythm to hold those concepts, and ideas tight. Not that I didn’t end up finding I’d still goofed up during the editing stage. Thank goodness for my editor, Kerry, for all her help in smoothing out the rough edges while not losing any of the bad boy rockers vibe I had going.

With the release of this book finally here I have to buckle down hard for book 2. I’m close, so damn close to being finished. I have one last issue to resolve, and then some HEA love to dab on. Then it will be the read through with my checklist I gained from my editor on book 1. Did I mention Kerry is a rock star in her own right? She is. Hopefully all she handed me to help me through the first book will make the editing process for the second book a little easier. Well, except for the comma’s. I can’t help the comma’s! They multiply and where I think they should be they shouldn’t and where I don’t believe they should be they’re supposed to be. The English language, and all it’s rules SUCK! LOL!

And on that mini-rant note I am off to do some more writing. Gotta get the second book in to the publisher because book 3 is already tickling at the back of my brain, and the muse she be getting antsy. Have a fantastic night, and stay cool out there folks ~ Moira

A list of projects

Coffee_77856522_XSHappy Saturday everyone, it’s the weekend! Finally. I thought for a while there the week would never end, but thankfully it did. Now I need to knuckle down to work on a few projects of my own instead of the “day job”.

First up are the second round of edits on The Rhythm, Living Victorious 1. I got them back mid-week so I have to get them done so they can be turned in before my deadline. I opened the doc up a few minutes ago to take another browse through, and I don’t see it taking too many hours out of the day. A few tweaks, a couple of little fixes, some word adjustments, and then the final read through in the (sometimes vain) hope of ensuring I didn’t miss anything important. Or worse, I didn’t miss something spelled incorrectly for the sentence structure yet that still exists in the English language. It’s happened to all authors at one time. Something that should be “an” but is in there as “and”, the doc sees nothing wrong with it because it’s a word, but the mess it makes of the sentence and over all scene… Ugh!

Second item on my list o’ projects for the weekend is to get more words down into Living Victorious 2. I got a huge amount into it last weekend, and if I can manage the same this weekend I should be right about where I want to be for the finish. Perhaps a few other details, but not all that many. My one character, the leading lady in case you were curious, in book 2 has a huge decision to make. Something I’m currently working toward revealing. She’s been given a huge opportunity, but to accept it would mean putting the rest of her life, which she’s only recently regained, on hold. She’s unsure if she can take the risk by accepting the opportunity presented. It would mean a lot of strain, and distance while building a relationship she was sure would only remain in her dreams. The girl has choices to make, a lot of them, and very soon. We’ll have to see which way she goes I suppose.

Let’s see, other than that I have a few actual housekeeping projects to look after. ie: Cleaning – ick! But it must be done otherwise my squirrel syndrome kicks in, and I end up distracted from the truly important things in life – writing. YAY! LOL! So it will get done whenever I take a break. A little here, a little there, and before I know it the residence will be clean and there shall be no more distractions from the writing.

Well that’s it. I need to get a coffee refill, and then I will be buckling down on edits so I can get them back to my publisher for the final read through at their end. Have a fantastic day, a terrific weekend, and I will keep you up to date on what’s coming next. ~ Moira

So many pretties!

One of the best things ever about being an author is getting your cover artwork. It’s like the first piece of the puzzle of what’s to come next. With EP’s Anthologies we get the pretties early – which is fantastic. I love having something to drool over before the anxiety of edits starts. And these are un-freaking-real! Jay Aheer, the cover artist for the Anthology, did yet another amazing job in creating something fabulous. A genius is all I can say. And so I share some of these goodies that I got on Tuesday with you, enjoy.

BadAlhaMF-evernightpublishing-jayaheer2015-banner (1) BAD-Antho-CoversSoooooo pretty… I could stare at these for hours, upon hours, upon hours. But I must tear my gaze away from them to attend to other things. Like first round of edits which hit my inbox today. Haven’t looked yet, but I’m hoping it’s not too bad. After that I must get to writing, because writing is goooooood.

I’ve been thrown completely off my normal schedule due to a familial obligation of the birthday sort last weekend – singing and all. This is something I must rectify this weekend by getting back into the swing of things. Book 2 of my Living Victorious series is calling to me. I left my characters in a most awkward place. Not sure if I’ll pick up there or in the next chapter. My muse is a bit … oh what is the word I want here? … “preoccupied” works I think. She’s being a bit flighty as well, not a good trait to have in a muse for those that are curious.

Need to get her back on target once more. Should be an interesting challenge, and keep me busy for a few hours. But at least she’s giving me lots of great ideas for the book. That definitely counts for something. Anyway, I am off to get dinner going, and see if I can coax a couple thousand words out of the muse. Have a lovely evening, and stay tuned for more information on the Anthology that will be coming out August 2015. For a little peek into my story, Drakon’s Prize, you can check the page here. ~ Moira

Release Day!

dangerous-reactions2The day is finally here! I know many have been waiting on this book, thank you for being so very patient with me, but this one I could not rush. Mostly so I got everything right, but also because it is the last C&M Security book for a while. I needed it to be as close to perfect as I could make it. Okay, okay. As close to perfect as my editor, the lovely Jessica Ruth could make it. She really helped to iron out kinks I hadn’t realized were there. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jessica for all your hard work.

Now that Dangerous Reactions is out I can turn my mind to other books. Mainly my newest series. The muse has been riding me hard to get a bit down every night. So I am off to the writing cave to get her off my back for the evening as soon as I give you all the links I currently have available for book 6. And here they are:

Evernight  |  Bookstrand  |  Amazon (US)  |  Amazon (CA)  |  All Romance

Of course all the links can be found on the Dangerous Reactions page at any time. Including all the ones that will go live in the next week or so. Well, I’m off to grab a snack, and settle in to do as the muse hath biddeth me to do. Have a great Friday, and an even more amazing weekend. ~ Moira

Hello weekend!

Yes, Weekend - inspirational quote.I am so very happy it’s the weekend. It was a very long week at the day job full of people who truly tested my limits to the max, and it wasn’t even the other employees this time. No this week it was the clients. Yet again I question why I’m a customer service rep. I am not a people person. I might be if I didn’t have to deal with the nine levels of customer service hell on a regular basis. And that’s just Monday morning before I’ve had coffee!

All I can think is, one less week until retirement, and way too many to count still to plow through. That and prison orange is so not my color! Which is pretty much the only reason I haven’t let loose the dogs o’ war on these people and told them what I truly think. May whoever you believe in have mercy on your souls (should you believe in them) if I ever win a lottery though.

But enough of that! The plan for today is to write, write, and write some more. I have a book to finish, and finish it I will. I’m hoping this weekend so I can take a day to give it a read through, but I’m making no promises. As soon as I think I have a plan in place someone wrenches the rug out from under me, and fucks up my grand plan six ways of Sunday.

So the only plan is to write. Then I’ll plan to write some more, and possibly even more. After all I have plenty of coffee, I even have some snacks on standby, and plenty of fresh air to keep me going. Though I may need to reconsider having a window open at all tomorrow. Doesn’t sound like Mother Natures quite done with smacking us around with winter yet. That’s okay. If the weather goes as it sounds like it might it’s all the more reason to stay safely tucked indoors, and -you guessed it- write!

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend wherever you might be. Stop by tomorrow for something new I’m trying out along with some authors of much greater note than I. ~ Moira

PS – Did you know I’m on Authorgraph now? If you’d like me to sign an e-book of mine you’ve purchased I will. The link is on the side bar under my welcome message, and above my WIP progress bars. Click the link, pick the book, and when I get the notification I’ll go and sign it for you with a personalized message.

Release Day!

uniformantho1lIt’s here! The Uniform Fetish is live. I have to give a big shout out to the other nine amazing authors I’m honored to have been teamed up with for this anthology. I’m one very lucky author to be among such esteemed company. This is my first anthology, and I was very excited to have been picked to take part.

When I submitted my entry I had no idea if it would fit into what the EP team envisioned for the anthology. But hey, I had to give it a shot right? It all paid off too much to my surprise, and delight. Lots of delight actually. Oddly enough I sort of forgot about it to be completely truthful. Too many things going on between submission and that first set of edits I suppose, it just slipped my mind entirely. Right up until the moment someone made mention about it, and then there were a few jitters.

I also want to give a shout out to the nine authors of the Uniform Fetish: Manlove Edition. This is a day to celebrate, but it doesn’t stop here. Next week, March 2-7 2015, is a huge blog book tour. We’ll all be participating as well as several fellow authors, and bloggers helping us get the word out even more. It should be a blast!

For buy links, and peek into my story from the Uniform Fetish you can check it out on the A Passionate Witness page. For now I’m off to do some writing, have a lovely night ~ Moira
